Creative Spaces Grants Criteria

1. Applicants should be Emirati or children of Emirati mothers and must be at least 18 years of age by the time the proposed residency would take place.
2. CV or Resume (no more than 2 pages) includes, as applicable: education, exhibitions, bibliography, collections, teaching, texts, curatorial projects, honors and awards, affiliations, and residencies.
3. University degree in studio or fine arts or established portfolio of equivalent experience.
4. Practicing artist with a successful showcase, and preferably has a proven online and social media presence and engagement.
5. Participated in past public cultural events, exhibitions, programs, functions or festivals within the past 5 years.
6. Recommendation letter from an active creative within the UAE, outlining reasons why the applicant is fit for this opportunity. This can be provided by one of the cultural or artistic institutions within the UAE.
7. Provide a work plan detailing anticipated activities and timelines involved. At a minimum, it should include the artist’s goals for this program, a description of the personal work that will be undertaken.
8. Portfolio produced in the last five years. The portfolio should be submitted as a PDF format and contain no more than 20 images. Each image should contain the title, date, size, and materials.
9. Each applicant must conduct a workshop related to their practice. Please submit a workshop proposal, including the target audience, maximum number of participants, and minimum skill level required.
