Al Burda Award is seeking to be a leading and distinctive contest at the Islamic world level and in celebrating the Prophet's Birthday, and to honor the winners in diverse contests related to the Prophet's Birthday (God's blessing and peace be upon him) and his redolent biography. The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development has been organizing in United Arab Emirates Al Burda Contest since 1425 A.H. / 2004 A.D. to honor the memory of the Prophet Mohamed’s Birthday, (God's blessing and peace be upon him) each year. Al Burda Contest is a poetry contest open to poets from UAE and abroad in nabaty poetry and classic poetry for commending the Prophet (God's blessing and peace be upon him) and his redolent biography. In addition to Arabic calligraphy Contest with its both traditional and modern categories and Classical decoration (Zakhrafa) Contest at the international level.
